The area called

's-Gravenland is build in the late 90's and is several meters (± 6m) below sea level.

During an "Open Day" of Rijkswaterstaat it was possible to visit several locations of water management projects.

Here you see a storm barrier in Capelle aan den IJssel and it was the first structure of the Delta Plan.


The Delta Plan was a very big project to protect the Netherlands from water by storms.
